Kabul Suicide Attack Leaves 9 Killed, 13 Wounded

KABUL: (MEP) At least nine people have been killed and 13 others wounded in a suicide attack on the Ministry of National Defense staff in Mahmoud Khan Bridge area of Kabul city.

The attack took place at 3:30 pm afternoon on Saturday when the employees of the Ministry of Defense after their work hours were on the outside of the Ministry, according to local media.

The injured were shifted to hospital where some of them are being in critical condition.

Taliban insurgents claimed responsibility for the attack.

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani strongly condemned the deadly bombing in the city and has offered his condolences to the families of victims and wished soon recovery for those injured.

Meanwhile, the NATO-led Resolute Support (RS) mission condemned the attack, saying “Resolute Support strongly condemns the brutal insurgent attacks in Kabul and Kunar on Saturday that killed or wounded several dozen Afghan civilians and killed three members of the Afghan National Defense Security Forces.”

Kabul suicide attack came hours after a powerful suicide attack rocked Asadabad district of Kunar province Saturday morning in which more than 50 killed and wounded.
