Lastly Afghanistan sees the year of 2014
KABUL: (MEP) – Finally the calendar reached the year 2014. Wednesday marked the first day of the year 2014 that Afghan citizens have awaited during the past 12 years.
The biggest events in 2014 are the end of foreign troop’s combat mission and holding the presidential election.
This year may be a turning point for the security and political situation in Afghanistan. Many hope it will be the best year for people, though it will certainly be full of concerns and challenges.
All American and NATO military operations will end this year and the security responsibilities will be transferred to Afghan armies.
According to officials in the interior ministry, an important thing the Afghan forces need is that the Afghan forces need to be equipped with modern weapons.
The presidential election will be held on April 5th of this year.
The year 2014 is the year that the people of Afghanistan hope that the government will be able to help the people finally enjoy peace.
According to analysts, signing the security accord with America in 2014 can be an important factor for bringing peace in Afghanistan, Ariana new reported.
If the security agreement is not signed, the international troops will not be present at the end of this year and the absence of foreign militaries will be challenging for the security and political situation of Afghanistan. One problem that may occur in the absence of US protection forces is that many of the NGO’s and American-financed companies have said their insurance coverage will not allow their ex-pat personnel to remain in the country if there is not US force protection.
