Complaining about not reaching backup forces, the Maidan Wardak provincial council said military posts associated with local police in “Mama Noor Kheil” district have been under severe surround by Taliban since last night.
Haji Ahmad Jafari, a Maidan Wardak provincial council member, told the Middle East Press that at middle of last night the Taliban attacked the local police posts.
As he added the battle is still going, the posts are being severely surrounded by Taliban and no assistance has given yet through air or land.
Being surprised of Taliban attack in Ramadan month, Jafari hoped the backup forces would arrive soon.
This comes as the backup forces from Jalriz have got stuck in Taliban third ambush after they defeated the two other ambushes.
He added two local police were killed and 3 other wounded.
Maidan Wardak local officials were not reachable for commenting on the issue.
Armed Taliban yet to comment on the incident.
In Ramadan, two years ago 32 local police were harshly killed during the Taliban attack over their posts.
