Mansur Dadullah, third person to have been held by the Taliban, is released from Pakistan jail

KABUL: (MEP) – Akhtar Muhammad Mansur Dadullah, brother of Mullah Dadulla, has recently been released by Pakistan.

Pakistani officials said that their aim in releasing the Taliban leaders is to strengthen the peace process in Afghanistan.

Muhammad Esmael Qasimyar, head of the High Peace Council on Foreign Relations, welcomed the release of the Taliban leader and said, “Perhaps, this release will be effective in peace and stability in Afghanistan.”

Sayed Akbar Agha, one of the former Taliban leaders, said he considers the release of Akhtar Muhammad Mansur Dadullah effective in the peace process.

Reports say that, Mansur Dadullah connected with his family members and other Taliban leaders after his release.

Recently, the Afghanistan government has started the release of Bagram prisoners.
