Marja residents complain of police misbehavior
KABUL: (MEP) – A number of residents of Marja district of southern Helmand province gather before the governor’s house, protesting against the misbehavior of police towards the people.
They claimed the police on Saturday night entered their homes in Trikhnawor village and beat the people without any charges.
Due to frequent harassment by the police, they said they were unable to work on their agricultural fields.
The protestors further claimed the police had snatched their mobile phones and used their homes as security shells, Ariana news reported.
Ahmad Shafee, the district chief of Marja, admitted some of the problems, saying a search operation was underway in the motioned village.
However, he noted an investigation would be carried out regarding the alleged police harassment.
