Moi: 21 rebels killed in dual Afghan-NATO operations

KABUL: (MEP) – In the recent the interior ministry of Afghanistan announced that at least 21 Taliban rebels were killed throughout dual military operations through the country.

Agreeing to the statement that released by interior ministry of Afghanistan, the militants were killed in north, south and east and western provinces of the country during the past 24 hours.

The statement further added, the operations were jointly coducted by Afghan police, Afghan army, Afghan intelligence (national directorate of security) and coalition security forces in Kunar, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Jawzjan, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Wardak and Helmand provinces, Khaama reported.

Interior ministry in its statement also added that 5 militants were injured and 10 others were detained during the joint military operations.

Afghan national police also seized 15 improvised explosive devices (IED) during operations in Laghman, Takhar, Faryab, Sar-e-Pul, Herat, Helmand and Nimroz provinces, interior ministry said.

Taliban militants group yet to comment regarding the reports.
