NATO Congratulates Afghanistan on Winning Election Results

KABUL: (Middle East Press) The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) congratulates Afghanistan on victorious conclusion of the presidential elections.

U.S. Army General John F. Campbell, Commander ISAF and U.S. Forces-Afghanistan, said “On behalf of the men and women of the International Security Assistance Force, I wish to congratulate President-Elect Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, and the people of Afghanistan in achieving this important target.”

Gen. Campbell further added, “I would like to also congratulate the Afghan National Security Forces. Their success, through two elections and protracted political uncertainty, are massive.

Their courageous and epic actions demonstrate their dedication to a secure, stable and unified Afghanistan.

Without their efforts and sacrifice, the opportunity to conduct a peaceful political transition would not have been possible.”

He said, “We remain committed to supporting the Afghan National Security Forces”
