Over 130 Taliban Members Killed And Five Factories Of Drugs Destroyed

MEP: As a result of a special operation by security forces in Farah city and the district of Bakwa, 136 armed Taliban members were killed and 81 others wounded and five drug manufacturing plant destroyed.

Local security officials in Farah province during a press conference on Tuesday provided details on security forces operations.

Mohammad Asif Nang, governor of Farah in the presence of the commander of 207 Corps Maj. Gen. Muhiddin Ghori, Brigadier General Hassan Shah Frogh, commander of 606 Ansar zone, security officials and the head of the provincial council, said the operation was launched in the past 24 hours.

Nang added that as a result of Air Force blows, artillery and ground attacks by security forces on the outskirts of the villages of Barangtot, Shoor Abad, Ganghkan, Raj and Nawbahar of Farah city, 65 members of the armed Taliban were killed and 30 others wounded and six different types of vehicles have also been destroyed.

Farah Governor stated that as a result of Air Force operations in Bakwa district, in addition to elimination of five drug manufacturing plant, 71 armed Taliban members were killed and 51 others wounded.

According to the source, the security forces have received no casualties during the battles.

Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Muhiddin Ghori, commander of 207 Corps said that as a result of this operation, the villages of Barangtot and Shoor Abad were completely cleared of armed Taliban.

It is noteworthy that the bodies of a number of armed Taliban were shown to the media.

The anti-government group have not commented on the report so far.

The development comes as conflict and fighting between security forces and the armed Taliban around the areas of Farah city and in a number of its districts continue.
