Pak-Taliban Truce Aimed To Disrupt Afghan Polls: Analysts

KABUL: (MEP) -The truce between the Pakistan’s government and the Taliban of that country is aimed to disrupt the upcoming elections in Afghanistan, according to political analysts.

They believe the ceasefire has been declared in order to let Pakistani Taliban accompany the Afghan militants to derail the election process.

After the Pakistan Taliban announced ceasefire for one month, Pakistan’s government stopped airstrikes against the militants in Waziristan tribal elders.

The Afghan analysts, however, call it a tactic of ISI to intensify insurgency in Afghanistan and disrupt the historic peaceful transfer of power due on April 5, 2014.

“This is a plan of ISI to shift the Taliban to Afghanistan and accompany their Afghan affiliates in disrupting the election process,” an analyst Ahmad Saeedi told Ariana News.

The one-month ceasefire between Pakistani Taliban and government comes as only one month remains for the holding of Presidential and Provincial elections.
