People’s Votes Must Be Respected: Civil Society

KABUL: (MEP) – A number of civil society groups in southern Helmand province demanded the Presidential candidates to respect people’s votes, and avoid frauds.

Gathered in provincial capital Lashkargah, the activists mentioned some circles were about to engineer the poll results.

The participants called on the electoral bodies to announce the poll results transparently and avoid fraud and political game.

“We don’t want to be the victim of frauds anymore,” a civil society activist told gathering.

“People went to the polls in a difficult situation, if frauds take place, it is disrespect to our votes,” another participant said.

These statements are expressed as dozens of visual evidences of electoral frauds have been published on social networks.
