Powerful Suicide Attack Leaves Scores Dead, Injured In Kunar

KABUL: (MEP) At least 11 civilians were killed and more than 40 others wounded in a powerful suicide attack at an amusement park in the center of Kunar province, officials say Saturday.

The deadly suicide bombing took place on Saturday around 10:00 am in Asadabad district.

Najibullah Danish, deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Interior told Middle East Press the suicide bomber detonated his explosive on a motorcycle among people.

According to him, in the attack, 11 civilians were killed and more than 40 others were injured, including children and women.

Danish added that a number of injured are in critical condition and some have been transferred to the Central Hospital of Kunar.

Meanwhile, local authorities in Kunar say 15 civilians were killed and 50 others were wounded.

According to the officials, the governor’s office and police chief of Kunar near the location of the incident is located.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
