President Ghani Leaves For Two-Day Visit To India

MEP: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani a head of a high ranking delegation left capital Kabul early Wednesday for a two day official visit to India to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior officials of the country.

A source of Afghan embassy in New Delhi told the Middle East Press that Ghani will discuss the important issues during his visit with Indian officials, including the purchase of military equipment, Chabahar port and strengthening bilateral relations.

The source, who asked not to be named, said the president will also meet with Afghan embassy staff, representatives of Afghan students residing in India, Afghan businessmen and investors and will note their problems.

The trip comes as India during this year, has inaugurated major projects and major infrastructure in Afghanistan and in addition to the port of Chabahar, the issue of the country’s military equipment to Kabul is of particular importance.
