President Karzai strongly condemn Peshawar bombing

KABUL: (MEP) – Afghan president Hamid Karzai strongly condemned organized suicide attacks in Peshawar city of Pakistan, which left 78 killed and 120 injured including women and children.

The presidential palace media office following a statement quoted president Karzai as saying, “Such attacks which targets innocent civilians, reflects enmity with the humanity.”

President Karzai further added that the attacks shows that terrorism remains a major threat for Pakistan, and strict and honest actions should be taken to eliminate the threats of terrorism in the region, Khaama reported.

At least 78 people have been killed in a double suicide bomb attack on a Christian church in northwestern Peshawar city of Pakistan on Sunday.

Another 120 people were wounded when the two bombers blew themselves up as worshippers left the church, which had been offering a free meal of rice.

Television images showed widespread damage and bloodied members of the congregation being helped into ambulances. Officials said there had been hundreds of people at the church on Sunday morning.

According to the provincial bomb squad officials there was evidence of two suicide bombers, each carrying about 6kg of explosives.
