Red Cross Suspend Its Activities In Afghanistan

MEP: The International Committee of the Red Cross until the safety of employees has suspended part of its activities in Afghanistan.

Ramin Ayaz, a Red Cross spokesman in Afghanistan told the Middle East Press, the decision was taken after killing six employees of this institution in Jawzjan province.

He said, six staff members of the committee have been killed by Daesh (ISIS/ISIL) terrorists in Qosh Tapa district of Jawzjan province and two others are missing.

Ayaz added that after the incident, officials of the International Committee of the Red Cross decided to provide complete security staff in Afghanistan, and until then its activities in the country are suspended.

Red Cross spokesman confirmed that talks with government officials in Kabul are already underway to solve the security staff and their activity to be resumed.

The International Committee of the Red Cross is a humanitarian organization that is active in war-torn countries.
