Roadside Mine in Kunar Leaves Policeman Dead

KABUL: (Middle East Press) Roadside mine has reportedly killed one Afghan policeman and injured four others in Kunar province on Monday night, local officials said on Tuesday.

Two policemen have been injured in a Taliban attack on a police outpost in Chapadara district of the province. Soon after, another policeman was killed and two others were injured as their car was struck by a roadside mine on their way to help the victims of the first attack.

According to Kunar Police Chief Abdul Habib Sayedkhili “One police was killed and two others were injured after their vehicle hit a roadside mine.”

“The police were traveling to support the security forces at the outpost that were targetted by a Taliban attack.”

Sayedkhili noted that the clash is still ongoing, stressing that a number of Taliban militants have also been killed, but did not disclose details.
