Sayaf: Taliban does not have the courage to negotiate with government
KABUL: (MEP) – Presidential candidate Abdul Rab Rassoul Sayaf declared, “The Taliban’s fight in Afghanistan is not Jihad but is an excuse for gaining political power.”
Former Jihadi leader Sayaf declared that if he were to win the Presidency, he would take critical steps against the Taliban.
Mr. Sayaf considers the Taliban misguided, and said that they were using the continuation of the war as an excuse for gaining political power in Afghanistan.
“The Taliban is the servant of foreign countries that cannot negotiate with Afghan government face to face” added Mr. Sayaf.
Mr. Sayaf also added that he respects human rights, especially women’s rights. He said he supports women’s rights because those rights provide better context for teaching and working to improve the lives of women, ariana news reported.
Inner and outer circle discussions have been held to promote reconciliation and dialogue with the opposition, but so far nothing has been seen as being successful in commencing the peace process in Afghanistan.
