Suicide Attack Shake Nangarhar province

KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least two policemen were killed and two others including civilians were injured following a suicide attack in eastern Nangarhar province.

According to local government officials, the incident took place in Batikot district on Tuesday morning.

Provincial governor spokesman, Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, said the suicide bomber blew up his explosives after the vehicles of the police forces arrived to check regarding a suicide attack plot.

Taliban group spokesman, Zabiullah Mujahid, claimed responsibility behind the attack and said at least 6 policemen were killed and 10 others were injured following the attack.

Nangarhar is among the relatively volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where Taliban insurgents are active in a number of its districts and regularly carry out insurgency activities.
