Taliban Claims Responsibility for Stabbing Foreign National in Kabul

KABUL: (Middle East Press) The Taliban militants group claimed responsibility for stabbing a foreign citizen in capital Kabul on Wednesday morning.

Taliban group spokesman, Zabiullah Mujahid, claimed that the foreign citizen who was killed in the attack on Wednesday morning was a worker of the international coalition forces.

Mujahid further added that the attack was carried out by three Taliban fighters while the foreigner was busy with shopping in Bibi Mehro area of Kabul city.

The Taliban militants group also claimed responsibility for murdering an Afghan businessman in Qala-e-Fatullah area of Kabul city on Monday.

Mujahid said the businessman was working with the coalition forces and claimed that the information regarding the Afghans working with the foreign troops are given to Taliban group by the people who are assisting Taliban in Kabul and other provinces of Afghanistan.

However, security officials in Kabul Police Department said Wednesday that a Taliban chief was arrested in connection to the murder of the foreign national in capital Kabul.

Hashmatullah Stanikzai, spokesman for Kabul Police Department, said the Taliban chief was arrested following an operation in Bibi Mehro area of Kabul city.

Stanikzai further added that the attacker Taliban chief was identified as Abdul Fatah and was originally a resident of southeastern Ghazni province.
