Taliban’s Assault Thwarted On Darqad District

MEP: Takhar security forces have successfully repelled the armed Taliban’s attack in Darqad district of the province and the opposition fled the area.

Attorney General Sher Aziz Kamawal police commander in north-East says the Taliban group launched a coordinated attack in Darqad District last night.

He said the attack was pushed back by the security forces and the Taliban have fled the area.

According to Kamawal, the attacks started at 8:00 pm and continued until about 4:00 am as a result, the armed Taliban pushed back from Noorkhail and Ali Khail areas.

The security forces also killed ten members of the armed Taliban and nine others wounded.

Kamawal added one of the security forces also wounded in the attacks.

Taliban have not yet commented on the report.
