Three civilians attending prayers were killed and nine other injured when insurgents opened fire on at a mosque on Friday night in Paktia province.
The shooting occurred at about 9:00 pm local time in the mosque of Zahu district in the 2nd security area in Gardiz city of Paktia province while people were saying their prayers.
Some sources told the Middle East Press that as a result of the insurgents shooting 3 were killed and 9 other injured.
Abdullah Hasrat, the Paktia provincial governor spokesman, told the Middle East Press, that 3 prayers were killed but 4 injured.
He added investigations are ongoing regarding the incident.
No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Surprisingly, unlike the past, in current year the insurgent`s attack has sharply increased in the country in Ramadan month: several terrorist attacks and explosions in Kabul, Herat and Khust have left more than thousands of civilians killed and wounded.
