The Hopeless Woman, Whose House Was Set On Fire
MEP: A woman that her husband since a year has gone to Iran to find a job and provide a compelling live condition for his family, has spent her days and nights in the village of Dasht Khasa in the district of Guzargah-e-Noor of northern Baghlan province without any shelter. All of her property was set on fire by a powerbroker and all the equipment has been turned into ashes.
The woman ‘Nazgul’ who is the mother of two children, in contact with the Middle East Press, said “20 days ago someone called Basir, resident of the village torched her house during night, two living rooms, a corridor and a kitchen with entire belongings have been turned to ashes”.
She says Basir is a powerful man and he has warned her that if she turns to government, will give her a worse punishment.
Nazgul said the repeated petitions and complaints to the district governor and police chief were inconclusive and none of the officials paid attention to her sorrow and while the offender lives near the headquarters of the district and the command, has not been arrested.
Reason why her house was set on fire, she adds “the bullying man demanded nasty actions and wanted me to cheat on my husband and I did not listen to him… he warned that will set my house on fire… as finally he failed to reach me and therefore burned my home”.
According to Nazgul, she spends days and nights inside a tent in this cold weather, with desperation and inability was still able to contact with the Middle East Press by the help of one her relatives to make her voice be heard so the government arrest the man and hand him the serve punishment.
Meanwhile, the district governor Noor Mohammad Guzar in an interview with the Middle East Press accepted that Nazgul’s house was torched, saying police will certainly arrest the man and they urged assistance from sense of philanthropy Directorate of Disaster for the helpless woman.
Noor Mohammad said he has handed over the woman’s petition to the police and he must respond why the offender ‘Basir’ has not been arrested yet.
On the other hand, Khairullah district police chief told the Middle East Press, he was introduced as police chief of Guzarga-e-Noor district about eight days ago and had no knowledge of the subject.
He said he will take serious step towards the case.
