Two Afghan Soldiers Killed in Herat Attack
KABUL: (Middle East Press) The Taliban have carried out attack on a military outpost in Western Herat province on Sunday night which left two Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers dead and took 13 others, local officials said on Monday.
According to Najeebullah Najeebi, the spokesman for Zafar Military Corps 207, the incident took place last night in Kishk-e-Rabat Sangi district.
There are some reports claiming that the soldiers joined the insurgents by their own will.
“A delegation has been sent to the area to probe the matter,” Najeebi added. “We will find out whether the soldiers were taken captive or if they left themselves.”
Kishk-e-Rabat Sangi is one of the most insecure districts in Herat.
No group including the Taliban insurgents has claimed responsibility behind the attack so far.
