U.S. congress pledge $25m aids to Afghan women security forces

KABUL: (MEP) -U.S congress authorized $25 million funds to Afghan security forces, to increase Afghan women security forces numbers in order to maintain the security of women-only voting signs for the Afghan presidential election, The Daily Beast reported.

The source has further added, United States want to ensure all women voting sites are handled by Women police as many of the only-women voting sites in the districts and provinces may remain closed and women will not be allowed to vote if there are not enough women security forces.

According to reports, only 1 percent of Afghan national police and 0.3 percent of Afghan army are women.

This comes as there is serious debate going on between White House and Afghan Arg on the U.S-Afghanistan security deal.

President Karzai is still emphasizing on his new conditions where he wants United States promises to end airstrikes and raids on homes, in addition to helping broker peace talks with the Taliban group in a bid to end the violence in the country.

U.S. president has also recently expressed his willing to extend the deadline on Kabul-Washington security agreement and to sign it with the successor of Hamid Karzai who will be appointed on April 5.
