unamaKABUL: (Middle East Press) An employee of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) was murdered by unidentified armed men in southern Kandahar province Monday morning.

According to reports on UNAMA website the incident took place in the fourth police district of the city around 9:00 am.

Torpikai Ulfat was killed when she was heading towards her office, according to initial reports.

Meanwhile, UNAMA has confirmed the attack and expresses its sorrow at the loss of a colleague and its first thoughts are with her family.

Spokesman for the governor of Kandahar, Samim Khpalwak said an investigation has been launched into the incident.

No group including Taliban or Daesh militant groups claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
