Woman Brutally Set On Fire In Eastern Nangarhar
MEP: Following domestic violence in Afghanistan in eastern Nangarhar province, a young woman has been brutally set on fire after she was hanged in Behsud district, an official said on Saturday.
Attaullah Khogyani, a spokesman for the governor of Nangarhar told the Middle East Press, the incident occurred on Friday evening in an area of the district.
Mrs Sheeba after being hanged, was drawn to fire, he said.
Khogyani stated that in connection with the case, Sheeba’s husband and father-in-law were arrested and investigations are also underway.
Violence against women in Afghanistan is not an unprecedented thing, every day in various provinces of the country, issues like this happen in such a way that a month ago a woman was burned in Jalalabad city of Nangarhar province by her brother.
