Work On Launching Six Generative Factories Worth $350 Million Started In Kabul

MEP: The foundation stone for the construction of six manufacturing factories on Wednesday has been laid by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and a number of cabinet ministers in the industrial parks of capital Kabul.

The exertion of factories is carried by Alkozay private company with an investment of 350 million US dollars.

The factories are expected to produce in food, soft drinks cans aluminum-frame, boxes and packaging, printing press and tissue papers.

Minister of Urban Development and Housing, Sayeed Saadat Mansoor Naderi says the construction propose of factories was taken place Alkozay company and according to the directives of the President, a Committee under the chairmanship of the Minister of Finance Eklil Hakimi was formed to examine the proposal.

He added that the committee has discussed about the quality of the investment and proposed to the Cabinet that the investment is in favor of Afghanistan.

Minister of Urban Development further added that with the start of the factories, for two thousand people direct jobs will be generated and for a thousand of people indirect jobs, and these factories will be having all international standards in terms of environment and quality.

Sayeed Saadat Naderi pointed out that with this investment some imported gap to be filled and export to neighboring countries will also take place.

Meanwhile, Engineer Khalilullah representative for Alkozay international companies, said the name of Alkozay has tied to quality and the company is active in more than 50 countries.

“One’s favor and the welfare of the people is considered in business” Khalilullah said, adding that the private sector has a significant role in building the national economy.

Engineer Khalilullah noted that according to the contract of construction work of six factories between the government and the international companies of Alkozay, the mentioned factories should be built and inaugurated in three years, but the first phase of the factories by the end of 2017 and all the factories are built and inaugurated at the end of 2018.

60 percent of the factories is to be spent for exports and 40 percent for domestic needs, he stressed.

President Ghani also said that goals should be simple, understandable and applicable general and our goal is that we turn Afghanistan into an exporter country.

The President added that in addition to poverty, Administration filth and Drug, are the greatest threat to Afghanistan imbalance between imports and exports.

Ashraf Ghani said that politically we have defended our country, but we never had economic independence and political independence without economic independence is incomplete.

“We must start the best form of investment as well as having a proper management,” Ghani further added.
