Suicide blast kills Romanian soldier in Zabul

KABUL: (MEP) – A suicide bomb attack on Kabul-Kandahar Highway in southern Zabul province killed a foreign soldier, said an official source on Sunday.

“A suicide bomber targeted a vehicle of Romanian soldiers in Ishaqzai area of Shahr-e-Safa district of Zabul killing a foreign soldier, injured three others,” the source added.

Shahr-e-Safa district chief, Abdul Khaliq Khan, said that the incident took place on Sunday morning when a suicide bomber detonated his explosive laden car at Ishaqzai area when a foreign forces’ convoy was passing by the area.

He added that four Afghan civilians were also injured in the attack.

A spokesperson of coalition forces in Afghanistan confirmed the killing a Romanian soldier in Zabul province.

No group has claimed the responsibility of the attack yet.
