America: Release of inmates from Bagram jail is a serious threat for Afghanistan security
KABUL: (MEP) – Release of inmates from Bagram jail can cause a serious threat for Afghanistan security, said spokesman of American troops in Afghanistan.
Colonel Dave Lapan, spokesman of American troops in Afghanistan, noted that the release of dangerous prisoners is a very serious threat because there is the strong evidence supporting the prosecution or investigation of them.
Bagram is one of the biggest jails in Afghanistan where many Taliban, Al-Qaida and armed oppositions are imprisoned.
The committee to probe cases of Bagram prisoners released 650 prisoners during the current week.
Officials in this committee have said that they released those prisoners who were innocent.
Afghanistan Senate House also considered the release of these prisoners dangerous and said that release of these prisoners could be challenging for election security on the eve of election time.
The Bagram jail issue was one of the several issues in dispute between America and the Afghanistan government in the past. But American authorities have always said that in Bagram jail are those prisoners that have murdered American soldiers.
However, the exact number of Taliban prisoners was not specified in the Afghan jails but most of the prisoners released previously returned to the ranks of war after being released.
