Blast kills Afghan army officer in capital Kabul

KABUL: (Middle East Press) An Afghan army national army (ANA) officer was killed following an explosion in capital Kabul early Saturday.

According to the security officials the incident took place around 7:00 am local time in Abdul Haq Square.

Hashmatullah Stanekzai, spokesman for the Kabul police department, said one more Afghan army officer was also injured following the blast.

Stanekzai further added that the explosion occured due to a magnetic bomb which was planted in the vehicle of the Afghan army officers.

No group including the Taliban militants has claimed responsibility behind the incident so far.
