Major Attack Plot Foiled in Kabul City

KABUL: (Middle East Press) A major car bombing plot have been foiled by the Afghan Intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) in Kabul city.

According to a statement released by the National Directorate of Security (NDS), the Afghan intelligence operatives confiscated a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) which was prepared for the attack.

The statement further added, the attack was planned to detonate the highly sophisticated explosives via a car-bomb targeting Government Institutions compounds in Kabul.

NDS said the car bomb was ready on the other side of the Durand line, installing more than 150 kg of explosives of the type “Water Gel” using complicated and professional methods.

“While the NDS Demining units reached the area, the Car was neither transportable nor diffusible. So we advanced to operate a controlled explosion, which was carried out without any incident,” the statement said.

The militant groups have not commented about the report yet.
