US Sends 62 Helicopters to Afghan Air Force

KABUL: (Middle East Press) United State has delivered 62 helicopters to the Air Force of Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) officials said.

MoD spokesman, Gen. Zahir Azimi said Wednesday that the deliverance of helicopters had been agreed between the United States and the Ministry of Defense (MoD) to restore and make the air force independent by the end of 2016 and beginning of 2017.

Gen. Azimi further added that the delivery of the helicopters is expected to begin by the end of this year and will be completed within one year.

He said the United States will also deliver battle aircraft to Afghan Air Force which will include A-29 Super Tucano.
