MoI says Taliban Leaders among 67 Killed in Afghan Military Operations
KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least 67 Taliban insurgents were killed and 38 others were injured during military operations by Afghan national security forces in the past 24 hours.
Interior ministry following a statement said Monday that the operations were jointly conducted by Afghan National Police (ANP), Afghan National Army (ANA) and Afghan Intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives.
The statement further added that the operations were conducted in Parwan, kandahar, Maidan Wardak, Khost, Paktia, Ghor and Helmand provinces.
At least 2 Taliban insurgents were also arrested during the operations, the statement by interior ministry said, adding that many Taliban leaders were also among those killed or injured during the operations.
Afghan security forces confiscated various types of light and heavy weapons along with explosives and 2 rounds of improvised explosive device (IED) during the operations.
Interior ministry did not disclose further information regarding the fatalities of the Afghan security forces during the military operations.
The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the report yet.
