Over 46 Killed, Injured in Suicide Attack in Jalalabad

KABUL: (Middle East Press) A group of militants attacked the Intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) compound in Jalalabad city early Saturday.

The synchronized attack was launched with a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) which was detonated near the entrance gate of NDS compound around 5:00 am local time.

According to preliminary reports, at least 6 people were killed and over 40 others were injured following the attack.

Zabiullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Taliban group, claimed responsibility behind the attack and said several Afghan forces were killed or injured following the attack.

Mujahid also claimed that heavy clashes continued between the Taliban fighters and Afghan forces in the area.
