NSC approves strategy on ANSF’s enforcements

KABUL: (MEP) – National Security Council (NSC) approved the draft strategy on outlook and enforcement of Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF).

In a plenary session of the NSC chaired by President Hamid Karzai on Saturday, the participants of the meeting after long discussions approved the strategy on outlook and enforcement of Afghan security forces.

Officials in the Ministry of Defense and Chief of the Army Staff shed light on the improvements that Afghan security forces have made in different spheres over the past 13 years. They also made their suggestions for further enforcement of Afghan forces in the future.

The NSC directed the Minister of Defense to present the draft to his successor in presence of the next president of Afghanistan.

The participants of the session also discussed security plan for the runoff elections, scheduled to be held on 14th June. Security officials assured the NSC that they will ensure foolproof security of the second round of presidential polls.

Preparations for peaceful transition of power also come under discussion of the session.
