‘Peace Is Inside Afghanistan, It Will Not Be Begged From Neighbors’

MEP: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani emphasizing that peace is restored inside Afghanistan, said this wish would not be achieved from the neighbors by begging.

President Ghani on Wednesday evening met with civil society representatives and talked about peace and the meeting in Brussels.

During the meeting, representatives of civil society, presented their concerns, suggestions and talks about peace to the President.

Delegates expressed the civil society concerns in the peace process with Gulbuddin Hekmatyar and that the expression of women’s rights and achievements of the past should not be sacrificed peace process, said those charged with various crimes, genocide and crimes have been detained should not be released under the name of peace.

The representatives also said the role of civil society in diversity and plurality of opinion on national issues is important, adding that warring groups, subject to the protection of human rights and women’s rights, to be invited through a mechanism to peace.

Meanwhile, Ghani, appreciated cohesion between civil society and respect for the constitution of country as well as calling the volunteerism in bringing positive changes in the lives of people “useful”.

According to the President, “our society needs balance, and this balance must exist in every part that civil society, government and the country’s economy spread with the help of abroad and there is no balance and the balance achieves when to the warring groups say no to war and join the peace.”

Ghani added that terrorism is a medium-term threat to the region and the world and strategy and common struggle is required for its elimination.

“So far all thought that Afghan government will not suffice to bring peace, but for the first time in Afghanistan after 40 years of peace talks in Kabul is successful, He further added.

The president was referring to the coming Gulbuddin Hekmatyar.

He pointed to Pakistan’s lack of sincerity in bringing peace to Afghanistan, stressed that would never require from any neighbor under the pretext of peace, but the peace is in Afghanistan.

This comes as the fact that today a peace agreement with the Islamic Party with negotiating delegation to be signed and presented to the President Ghani and Gulbuddin Hekmatyar.
