KABUL: (Middle East Press) District commander shot dead by unknown gunmen in southern Helmand province of Afghanistan late on Tuesday.

Local government officials said, Anwar Khan, district administrative chief of Nad-e-Ali district was shot dead by unknown gunmen.

The officials further added that the incident took place in Nad-e-Ali district late on Tuesday afternoon.

A body guard of Mr. Khan along with a policeman were also killed and six others, all policemen were injured following the attack, the officials added.

No group including the Taliban terrorists has claimed responsibility behind the incident so far.
