War In Kunduz Causes People Tremble For ‘A Piece Of Bread’

MEP: The price of a bread has increased from 10 AF to 50 AF since the beginning of deadly war between the armed Taliban and security forces in northern Kunduz province.

On Monday night the armed Taliban claimed that they have taken full control of the city, but some provincial local and security officials rejected the claim, saying the Taliban only seized a number of security posts.

Abdul Aziz Azizi, a tribal elder in Kunduz told the Middle East Press, “people are starving, we have no food, no water, no electricity and nothing at all.”

The Taliban have torched some parts of the city and people are struggling for their lives, Azizi added.

Meanwhile, a security source told media the security forces are trying to push the Taliban’s offensive and bring security in the city.

Azizi says, though we have nothing and everyone is like a dead body but we do not need any help that causes the situation get even worse…we only urge the government to bring us water.”

Unconfirmed reports, in the same time indicate that dozens of people have been killed and wounded– along with security force members.
