Woman Arrested over Children Murder in Australia
KABUL: (Middle East Press) A woman has been arrested in Australia on suspicion of killing eight children who were found dead inside her house.
The 37-year-old woman is now recovering from stab wounds in hospital under police guard, Queensland Police Detective Inspector Bruno Asnicar told reporters on Friday.
He said the woman, who is believed to be the mother of seven of the victims, is yet to be charged.
He further added that the eighth child is thought to be her niece.
The unidentified woman suffering from stab wounds to the chest was found in the residence with the victims.
“We’re not looking for anybody else, we’re comfortable that the community at large is safe,” Asnicar stated.
Earlier on Friday, Australian police said eight children aged between 18 months and 15 years old had been found dead at a house in the northern city of Cairns.
Lisa Thaiday, who claims to be the woman’s cousin, said that the woman’s 20-year-old son arrived home and found his brothers and sisters murdered inside their home.
