13 Armed Taliban Members Killed, Wounded In Kunduz Clashes

MEP: At least six members of the armed Taliban were killed and seven others wounded in northern Kunduz province and nearly 30 suspects arrested, security officials said on Thursday.

Lt. Col. Abdul Qahaar Araam, the press officer of the 209th Shaheen Corps said, in a joint operation by security forces that was launched in order to crush the armed Taliban in the areas of Kunduz – Khanabad highway and the district Dasht-e-Archi, thirteen armed Taliban members were killed and wounded.

27 armed Taliban suspects were also arrested from the residence of Maulawi Shaker, the shadow governor of the group for Dashti-e-Archi district during the operation, as well as a Taliban ammunition depot was destroyed, he added.

The anti-government opposition is yet to comment on the group.
